Microsoft Teams Now Available for Public Sector Customers

The wait is over for my long-suffering public sector customers chomping at the bit to dig into Microsoft Teams!  Check out all the juicy details over at the office Microsoft Teams Blog site.

GoodNewsEveryone

Productivity solutions are quickly gaining steam in all verticals for a variety of reasons.  As we successfully migrate collaboration workstreams away from email and into more efficient modes solutions like Slack and Teams have become increasingly popular and organizations are seeing rewards for the efforts.  The incoming generational workforce looks to chat and video first, and email last.

“Now Microsoft Teams meets the federal compliance requirements of GCC customers, including FedRAMP Moderate, CJIS, IRS 1075, and HIPAA, in addition to supporting global standards, including SOC 1, SOC 2, EU Model Clauses, and ISO27001. We also added support for audit log search, eDiscovery, retention policies and legal hold for channels, chats and files as well as mobile application management with Microsoft Intune.”

Our government customers however have needed to balance these changes in modality with regulatory compliance and strict security.  Teams uniquely satisfies these demanding requirements while providing the flexibility for public sector to adopt the modern workplace practices of their private sector counter parts, which in itself increases the opportunities for public and private sector organizations to directly collaborate without sacrificing data security.
